Nokia 6110 Navigator

Nokia has just launched its GPS-enabled 6110 Navigator. The 6110 Navigator is an easy-to-use GPS-enabled handset. GPS may be its USP, but it’s also equipped with some pretty decent features. These include a 2 megapixel camera, microSD support, USB v2.0 (mini USB), Bluetooth with A2DP profile, music player, and stereo FM radio.

This 3G-, HSDPA-enabled slider also supports EDGE. A secondary camera located above its 2.2 inch TFT display (240 x 320 pixels, 16M colors) comes in handy for video calls. As for the GPS, maps of eight Indian cities are included, and are really quite detailed.

The device is available off the shelf for around INR14,250 with bill and warranty.

The Samsung SGH-G800

The Samsung G800 is the company's latest camera focus mobile phone and comes with a 5 megapixel digital camera with the promise that photographers can still get great shots even without a standard compact camera. But is that the case? We get snapping to find out.
The Samsung SGH-G800, to give it its full title, is a HSDPA slider with dimensions of 101 x 51 x 19mm.
Fairly fat compared to your average mobile, the Sony Ericsson W880 is just 9mm thick for example, the G800 is to put it bluntly big and heavy. This isn't a phone that can be hidden in a pocket and forgotten about.
It might be big and heavy, but the design is stylish with a brushed metal finish. The front of the handset is dominated by 2.4-inch 262K colour 320 x 240 pixel QVGA display that is crisp and clear with a d-pad and call buttons situated at the bottom underneath this.
Slide up the screen (it is a slider design after all) and it reveals a big, solid, easy to use keypad. The topside of the phone sports zoom buttons and a dedicated shutter button while the underside offers two compartments for charging, headphones (not 3.5mm), and a microSD card slot.
Like Nokia and Sony Ericsson, Samsung has professed the phone's camera credentials with a bulky camera lens cover that slides out the way (normally in your pocket) to reveal the 3x optical lens and a Xenon flash.
Luckily for Samsung the main selling point isn't the size, but those 5 million pixels and a 3x optical zoom waiting to get the perfect picture and a range of software applications that go with it.
The phone's overall software is the same found on Samsung's Ultra edition handsets and comes with an easy to use interface that lets you get the most out of the phone from text messaging to listening to music via the MP3 player.
Trying its best to be a fully-fledged camera, the phone offers a number of features that you can opt and choose for in the camera mode.
Which camera to use (front or back) is going to be a no brainer, but opting for one of the 14 scene modes might not be.
On resolution you can opt for 2560 x 1920 (5M) down to 640 x 480 pixels while you can also choose whether you want to choose single shot, multi-shot, mosaic shot, frame shot or panorama.
Then there are the flash modes; auto, on, red-eye reduction or off, timer options, macro modes, white balance, exposure settings, anti-shake, ISO settings up to 400 and special effects to boot. The options list like a real camera.
Taking pictures is incredibly easy and in our tests we noticed no noticeable shutter lag as we experienced with the Nokia N95, although subjects too close can be blasted by the powerful Xenon flash.
When it comes to the camera software users can share images or video via ShoZu.
ShoZu, according to the blurb "is the leading provider of mobile social media services that connect mobile consumers with their online social networks, personal blogs, photo storage sites and other Web 2.0 properties from the handset".
Basically what this means is that you can access flickr, YouTube, Facebook, blip.tv and a host of others including CNN and the BBC all from your mobile phone without even going near a computer, and thanks to the G800's HSDPA 3.6Mbps connection speeds you can upload content as if you were on broadband at home.
Of course before you upload your pictures you want them to be the best they can be and so you can edit in camera.
Here the G800 gives you the ability to add effects such as changing the picture to look like an oil painting or if it was drawn with crayons while more useful options include removing red-eye, brightness, contrast and colour levels.
You can even opt to add frames, clipart and emoticons if that's your thing. Images are saved in addition to your original file so you won't lose anything and overall, while the software is basic, it's good enough to give you some control over what your images look like before uploading them to the web to share. But unlike Apple's iPhone, the G800's camera isn't just about still photography and users can record video as well. Here you have two resolution choices 320 x 240 and 176 x 144 disappointingly missing out on 640 x 480 or even higher resolutions. You do still however get control over white balance, exposure and sound.Once recorded you can, like the still images, edit the footage in camera. Here you get the ability to trim, spilt, cut, copy, add effects and audio as well as text. Once done you can then upload it to the web via ShoZu.
Features beyond the digital camera include Bluetooth 2.0 and an FM radio

Samsung SGH-i450

Design The design is truly a cross between the N81 and the N95. What with the dual slider design and a very Nokia-like form factor, you would say the same thing. Having said that, there's absolutely no reason why you should hate the phone.
The i450 possesses enviable looks, and it's not just jazzed up for its own sake; instead a subtle theme of cool blue runs along the sides of the phone, sandwiched between off-white. No unnecessary sparkle, no useless ridges; just a simple sports look that I like. With dimensions of 101 x 52 x 17.8 mm, the phone's not took bulky, and at 114g, it's not too heavy either.
The dual slide may not be original, but it works smoothly nevertheless, and appears quite sturdy too. Sliding the front reveals a navy blue keypad with evenly spaced and responsive keys. The keys are placed on a flat surface with arty ridges dividing them. Nice! The speakers are visible when you slide the phone down. A cool touch-sensitive navigation pad amidst the speakers means you can use it while surfing your music folder. It works fine, even if responsiveness is low.
Hot-swap for memory cards is a good thing. The volume keys are right above the memory slot on the left, while the camera key is on the right. Now to quirk number one: the 3.5mm earphone jack. It's nice to have a 3.5mm jack that lets you listen to music while the phone is charging. But you cannot use the jack to talk via headsets. It's purely for music and that's it! Which primarily means you will have juggle between the earphones (while listening to music) and the handsfree headset (for talking, of course) every time you get a call. Beats all logic!
The back houses the camera, without a lens cover, and the front is embellished by the 2.4-inch TFT. Right below are the function keys: Call, Cancel, Menu, Delete and two open keys. is't a

LG Ku990-viewty/beauty??

After a long ordeal KG finally came out with a life style product named LG-Viewty..This phone looks very chic, probably in an attempt to take on some high-end lifestyle devices such as the iPhone and the N95.

features:
At 103.5 x 54.4 x 14.8 mm, the phone is thin enough to be able to be pocketed comfortably, and weighs about 112g, which is the only thing that could give away its presence. The Viewty sports a 3-inch wide TFT touchscreen that can show up to 256K colors with a capable resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. hmmm
The phone has well-defined contours and is a perfect blend of silver and black. Special care has been taken to keep the face bare by eliminating the need to have buttons, no matter how rudimentary. It has only three keys just below the screen: Call, Cancel and Back.
The right side of the phone has dedicated camera buttons, while the USB, charger, and earphones slot come equipped with a slide shutter on the left. Now, the rear of this baby deserves a special mention. Hugging the camera is a jog dial that's as fashionably insensitive as you can get. I like the idea of having to work up the volume of music or zoom in and out while using the camera using the jog dial, but not at the expense of comfort. The positioning of the jog dial may look cool, but is far from ergonomic, since half of the time your finger will block the lens’ line of vision while using the camera.
There are two things that will make you proud to own this phone: the 5 MP camera and the touchscreen. Speaking of the latter, the whole interface has been designed to allow users to use their fingertips, as in the iPhone. This is good, except the touchscreen isn’t very responsive. If you compare this phone with others in the same price bracket, there is no denying that the Viewty touchscreen takes a beating. A special menu screen can be recalled when needed by swiping your finger on the screen, in an entirely hit-or-miss affair.
The company has included a fat stylus the size of a lipstick. While writing a message, if you are intent on using your finger, the on-screen buttons are bigger than usual but requires you to grow your nails for maximum effect. Not a hygienic option though. Having said this, let me just add that messaging on this phone is a painful task.ouch my thumbs-sorry!!

GTalk Hits The iPhone Via Safari

There're more and more applications being developed for the iPhone. And google on it's part played with i-phone. Google has already firmly planted itself in the iPhone team with on-board Google Maps, but they’ve now decided that that's not enough. Google fans will be pleased to know that they have released a version of Google Talk that will reportedly work perfectly in tandem with Safari on both the iPhone and the iPod Touch.

The only issue is that it’s a web-based feature so using it while you’re surfing the net might be a bit of a chore switching between screens. Even though the reports say that this version is going have a similar if not the same feel as your PC version with the capability to handle multiple conversations and alike, the window that has the GTalk version running will show the users as unavailable till they return to that page. Hey, it may not be perfect but it’s there.

To use the service go to www.google.com/talk on your iPhone or iPod Touch’s Safari Browser.

Be Aware of FAKE-->but fake rules

Chinese engineers have done it, yet again. The iPhone clone is finally out in the market, and boy does it look like the original.

It's called the HiPhone and, in fact, it's the closest copy we have seen. I didn't believe it initially, as is the way on the internet, what with fake spy leaks et al. However, there's a video that takes you through the awesomeness of the fake. No commitments, just ready to plug it in. The UI also looks just like that of the iPhone. We are excited! Check out the video. in you tube
by searching hi phone..

It comes with a 3.5-inch finger touch sensitive screen, dual SIM slots, music player and according to the website, it has everything the original phone has. The Model is C-002. Earlier buyers have a mixbag of response if you read the comments on the website. Let's wait and watch!!

It's out on sale on Dragonkicks website , and currently it's selling for US $219.

The 3G Apple iPhone

Design
First off all, Apple has refurbished the design a bit and the iPhone 3G is now slimmer than the last model. They’ve also added a new color to the line up – White - but that’s only available with the 16GB model. The other models will now have a glossy black rear casing, and I’m tempted to wonder, why go with a finger print magnet? The earphone socket has also been adjusted to accommodate normal 3.5mm pins, so users can simply plug in any headphone of their choice. Instead of a simple flat back it now also tapers a bit to give it a sleeker look and feel. Everything else design-wise hasn’t changed too much. Considering the fact that the new handset supports 3G and should support Video calling, there still doesn’t seem to be a secondary camera located in front, so i guess that's not happening anytime soon then.

Features

Not only is the new iPhone 3G going to be faster than the previous model it’s also going to have a better battery life, which according to Apple would be 5 hours of talk time. One of the few rumors I’m happy to say are true, is the fact that the new iPhone 3G is going to be equipped with an integrated GPS unit along with a few other location-based services to help enhance that feature especially with Google Maps live tracking and photo Geotagging.

Some of the ‘bugs’ that have been fixed include an option for deleting emails in bulk, a new Contact Search feature for looking up names in the address book and complete support for viewing Microsoft as well as iWork documents. It will also have a new scientific calculator. But the best part with the handset, at least for the business users, is the total enterprise support that the iPhone 3G comes with. Besides just that, it will also support Push email, Push contacts, Push calendar, Auto-discovery of Exchange servers, Global address lookup, and a Remote Wipe security feature. great! enjoy the new dude-|-
